Hi Michael

I thought you weren't in a hurry to get a car Laughing I guess you couldn't wait to get round to the dealership Laughing

Thanks for coming in and sharing your views on training with me, it is most appreciated. You can of course keep rubbing it in Shelly's face that you passed 1st time when she passed 2nd time and i guess with Emma you can always go on about your 3 minors against her 4. No matter which way you dice it up you come out on top Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Seriously though i know how much you all appreciate having your licence's and how much it helps you in life. Look after it.

Best wishes

I’d like to thank Tom for his excellent training and for helping me get my licence. I started lessons in may of this year and have just passed last Thursday with 3 faults. I am absolutely chuffed to bits and can’t praise Tom highly enough. His training was well planned and executed and designed to get the best out of me and let me tell you, at times that must have seemed impossible to him lol. If you go with Tom then you’ve chosen well and are in good hands. His little sayings will seem strange, but they work so well as I was hearing them during my test, it was weird. My confidence was high going into test, but now it’s sky high. I know I can deal with anything on the road, now that I’ll be on my own.

I know you’re teaching instructors too Tom, but it would be a sad day for learners if you gave up the learner teaching. I sincerely hope you don’t cos some of my mates will be calling you soon.

Thanks so much

Hi Tommy

thanks for coming in and sharing your news. I'm not surprised you are feeling high right now, 3 faults is a very good drive by test standards. It was well deserved though, as you worked well in training and took my advice on what and how to study in your own time. Don't worry about your mates, i don't intend to give up on teaching learners. You are all way too much fun to walk away from. What i'd been saying is that my work will become more varied and i would have to reduce the learner numbers i currently manage, not give them up completely. Who would keep me on my toes then? Twisted Evil

Remember, not to leave it too long before you take up on your motorway lessons. For now, go and enjoy your new found freedom of the road and keep safe. I will be watching Cool

Only 1 word to describe my learning experience with Tom, Amazing!
In my early lessons I was very nervous when driving the car but Tom was very patient and helped build my confidence. The way which he teaches is very good and soon I could see real progress in my driving! Tom is a great teacher and the standard of every lesson was good (the jokes and sayings not quite so much Razz ) and I soon found myself very confident with driving. I eventually passed my test yesterday after a few fails (none were my fault though Laughing ) but Tom always kept me confident and positive I would pass and I did Very Happy. With Tom you learn not just how to pass your test but to become a good driver, would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn to drive!!

Cheers for the help and your patience Tom

Hi Kevin
thanks for popping in and leaving a message. Well done on your deserved pass. It was funny seeing your face as i approached the car at the end of the test , when the examiner told you that you had passed as only a moment earlier you were intimating to me that you had failed. It's a credit to your driving ability that you continued driving as you did after believing you had failed. I will be keeping your number on file though as i may need programming advice at some point in the near future. Enjoy your new found freedom and stay safe on the road.

Take care

Hi Tom,
Told you I'd leave a nice wee message! Can't believe I actually passed - it's all still sinking in! To anyone thinking of calling Tom for driving lessons I would say definately go for it! He is extremely patient and really helps you progress throughout each lesson. I don't imagine I was the easiest of pupils either with my constant questions and severe lack of confidence but Tom really helps you and I actually belive I CAN drive now which is something I never thought I'd hear myself say!

I'm really looking forward to going car shopping now and when I've had a wee shot on the roads on my own I'll be sure to give you a call for motorway lessons Smile

Thanks again Tom,
Stephanie

You thoroughly deserved your pass and i am ever so glad we did get over your confidence crisis and that your belief now matches your abilities. You are a good driver and don't let anyyone who swerves to avoid you convince you otherwise Laughing Enjoy shopping for your new car, just don't buy a car to match your bag Laughing Keep your first couple of drives local and short and before you know it you will be mixing it with the big boys Cool

Hopefully see you soon for your next adventure onto the motorways.

how's tricks tom?

still a bit shocked at passing my test on Wed. shouldn't have been surprised considering the expert training Wink

a long, long time ago.....

.....the good lady stumbled across this forum after i had eventually caved into the pressure and decided that i should learn how to drive. going on the posts in this very thread it was decided that coming from a long line of non drivers i'd would be the first man of the family to break the mould, i would be the young skywalker and tom would be my obi wan. being an old dog who aint so keen on new tricks it would take a man of infinate patience and wisdom and tom was more than capable. despite some dark hours and my own opinions on how situations should have been handled tom was there to point me in the right direction (most of the time). there was joy, sorrow, tears, laughter and love. but we got there in the end.

anyhoos, i drove to work today for the fist time in 18 years of employment (don't tell my boss though, i'm still claiming travelling money and loose lips sink ships Wink ). and for the time i'll save travelling now i'll have an extra hour and a half with my wife and kids every working day. thats the stuff money just can't buy.

cheers mate.

Hi John

thanks for popping in. I have to laugh at your post Laughing i don't know about me being obi wan but you were definately tuff wan Laughing You really made me work my socks off but i'm happy for that as it helped me in my preparations for my own tests. I can't remember laughing so much before but we did have some hilarious moments, the most memorable will be going down Ardgay st. Even now i'm laughing at it. In the end though, you did get there and passed as i had expected you would. I am happy to hear that you wasted no time in commandeering the wife's car and using it to get to work and are now able to use that extra 90mins with your family. Take care on the road, there's one more nutter on it Laughing

Hi Tom

Just wanted to say thanks for all you support and patience in helping me to successfully pass my test on first attempt yay!!!
Having spoken to friends who have still to pass their test I now appreciate the teaching style used by yourself and its benefits. Having work to read over inbetween lessons certainly supports the learning. (especially the manouvres)

I will have no hesitation in recommending you to my friends.

Hi Adam

with you having missed lessons for about 5 weeks, due to your elbow break and not reading during that time, it was inevitable that your driving was going to suffer. What was to be your last lesson before your test, showed this up big time and as you will recall, you ended up feeling very low. Fair play to you though as you accepted my advice and booked one more lesson before your test and read every day during the run up. The rest, as they say, is history.

Well done
